Problem with Elation Platinum Spot 5 R Profile and Lumidesk

Using the 17 channel profile for the Plat Spot 5r, I am unable to get the color snap feature to work. Elation has tested the profile with Compu and it functions as it should. I've checked that the fixtures are set to the proper mode to match the profile. Is there anything in Lumidesk that could cause this problem?

The color snap enables the fixture to snap from color 1 to color 2 instead of scrolling through all the colors in between. The same goes for gobos.

Yes fade times and/or hold times are set. the color snap option it supposed to command the plat 5r to go directly to the color and not scroll. The same goes for gobos. Elation has tested the 17 channel profile with compushow and reports that the fixture responds correctly. So they're saying its something with lumidesk.

Hello, you need to make sure it's the exact same profile. CompuShow use ssl1, LumiDesk ssl2.
Can you send me the fixture manual and we will check it for you please?

Thanks

They say there is no difference between the 2 profiles. But that's what I expected them to say. Below is a link to the manual and the Elation profile that I am using.

Here is a short video showing what my fixture is doing. First color is red, second is cyan, third is white. I want the color wheel to snap to the next programmed color without snap through all the colors in between.

Casey can you try to use the "Sliders" window to test the light, you can change the value of any channel to be able to see what value does the color snap that you are looking for

Let me know
Thanks

I was speaking to Jingles about this yesterday, he told me you had posted on the ADJ forum.

The "snap to gobos funciton" on the elation fixture cannot stop lumidesk fading the gobo channel. Imagine lumidesk is fading between DMX20 and DMX 100, the fixture has no idea that the fade is going to end with the value 100 so how can it know which gobo you are fading to? I guess the gobo snap function simply stops the gobo wheel moving inbetween gobos and instead snaps to one gobo at a time.

You need to disable fading on the gobo channel (see screenshot jingles sent you).

The color fade button was the issue. If you disable the color fade, the fade time is not applied to the color change and the colors snap from one to the next. Thanks to everyone for commenting and helping.
