Flickering of light whilst using the Master Dimmer

Hey there, I just wanted to relate something that happened at an event recently. We were using a group of lights for a show and discovered that if the dimmer was anything other than 0% (Completely untouched) it resulted in a flicker in the lights every 30 seconds or so. I explained this at the time as probably being a limitation of trying to lower the signal to a DMX light, it's not a bug as such I just thought I'd bring it up incase it was an unknown problem.
