all I want to do is call up scenes

Post by Roly »

Hi folks

I'm looking for some help to get a temporary simple scenes only system going.

The venue has 20 RGBD fixtures on trusses.

I have the stage built with trusses and fixtures in the 3 D view.
I can build scenes but don't know how to simply call up a scene from a keyboard shortcut.

I'm an audio guy and have no depth outside of old analogue dimming systems.

What little I have learned so far has been fun but I don't have the time to go a lot deeper into the program at this time.

Can someone please tell me how to save a scene to a keyboard shortcut.

Using LumiDesk Live

cheers

On the live playback screen, right click on the scene you which to create a shortcut for. Select settings from the menu. Now click on the shortcut tab. click add a shortcut. Now press the key you want to use as a trigger. Select the flash option if you want it to be activate only when the key is presses and held and released when the key is released. Otherwise it will activate with a press, and deactivate with a second press.

Hi CMBDJ

Thanks for your help.
I don't know how to find the "live playback" screen. Do you mean Live Desktop?

In my view of live desktop, there is no access to scenes.
I have cues and sequences available and am able to select and manipulate fixtures. I know that preset buttons can be assigned to a keyboard but I can't get anything to assign to a preset.
Am I on the right track?

Sorry for my lack of depth, I can build and fix tube amps, but modern lighting is foreign to me.

Yes, the Live Desktop tab is what I mean. Right click on the scenes that you have built, and follow the commands I mentioned before. The Live Desktop lets you trigger a specific sequence, or a Cue of sequences.

Take a look at my tutorial videos as you progress. www.youtube.com/lumidesk

Hi Casey
Thanks again for your help.

Things make sense now.

I thought you were referring to scenes I had made in the desktop view. Thus the confusion.

Do I have this right...the preset buttons can either be momentary or latching. Either way they are cumulative.

Is it possible to have a preset button turn off the preceding button when selected?

Only if they are in the same Cue. otherwise they layer with sequences in other cues. Right click your cue button or sequence buttons and select release or stack.
