Virtual Dimmer

Hi,

i have some fixtures (mainly dmx-controlled led strips) using just three channels: RGB

with some lighting consoles is possible to add another "virtual" channel to the fixture: the virtual dimmer
this channel allow me to contol dimming and color with separate cues and control.
Really useful if you use one set of cues to contol the color of the fixture and another set of cues to control the dimmini/strobe of a fixture.


Anyone found a way to do this with lumidesk?

Based on what I understand from your explanation, you would want to add a dimming channel to the light profile. This would only work if the light supported 4 channels RGB and the 4th for a master dimmer. Otherwise you have a master dimmer on the Live screen, and you can program fade ups and downs from sequence to sequence on the live screen.
