Ultimate will not initiate

When I hooked up my Ultimate to the PC that had been operating it on an off for the past two years, it will not initiate and move from "AO1" to PC" The system appears to connect and identify the firmware in the Ultimate, but will not do the firmware update that it is asking me to do. It also, obviously, will not control the lighting rig from the unit. Nothing that I can think of has changed since the last time I hooked it up. The communications lights blink just like normal, like I said, it appears that the configuration software cab read it and get the data of of it, it just will not initialize with the software... Any ideas?

Can you tell me the version of the lumidesk software are you using? also the firmware version on your Ultimate?.

Did you ever fix your problem ?
I've got exactly the same issue and it's definitely due to the latest software version.
I'm using the ultimate running on the latest firmware and it won't connect to the PC. If I revert back to the previous software version, everything works OK !!

this means that your hardware interface has reached it's end of life (EOL). For future versions of the software you will have to upgrade your hardware interface.

How would I know if my interface has reached its end of life ?
It's Siudi7B running firmware 1.24
