DMX Dilemma
When in Live mode is it possible to deactivate the last pressed button ? For instance I built 15 different Cues. I cant possibly see them all on my 15 " Screen when in Live Mode. If I press a key on my Midi player, I could have 3 or 4 Cues going at the same time and they conflict with each other. Is it possible to deactivate the last button pressed when a new button is activated ? It drove me insane this past weekend.
Re: DMX Dilemma

Julian,
Just wondering if this is something that you''ll fix or provide as an option ?

Re: DMX Dilemma
I was hoping it would be more of a fix instead of a wish. I would think that it makes sense. Why would you want to active cues ?
Re: DMX Dilemma
I can add a release mode for cue, it's what you want? only one cue playing?
Re: DMX Dilemma
ok I undertand now, I can do that yes, but I need to know where can I put the option
Thanks
Thanks

Re: DMX Dilemma
Could you just put in in the configuration > General Settings > Live Tab or General Tab ? If not then perhaps you could put Next to the Clear Live , Black out and Master Dimmer when in Live Mode.
Re: DMX Dilemma
Julian...can you not add it to the cue right click menu on the live view? I'm guessing the release and stack options that currently show are for the stack and release limited to that cue and it's sequences. I think it makes sense to have that option in the same menu to set release or stack between cues.
Re: DMX Dilemma
Bob, I saw your video. Also consider how you arrange your cues/sequences. I have mostly recorded my shows like this:
I create a Cue called Fast. Inside that Cue, I create several fast sequences that I can alternate through. They are all set to release, so I can click from one to another and the previous sequence deactivates. Then I create a second Cue called Slow. Inside that cue are sequences that are slow pan and tilts or whatever for me to use for slower songs.
I've found that doing this helps keep your show (sequences) closer together and easier to trigger on the fly.
I also have multiple fixtures that I use in certain setups, I have made shows with fast Cues that include seperate sequences for eache type of fixture. For example...I'll have a sequence for the Elation 5rs, and a sequence for my Martin 812 scanners, within the same Cue (fast). With the cue set to STACK, I can then mix and match programming for each fixture type. This is probably why the feature programming is as it is now. But, there have been times when going from cue to cue has been a pain, as the Cues don't release one from the other (as you illustrated in your video).

Re: DMX Dilemma
Casey,
My cues are in the exact order I need them to be, they are very well organized. There are two problems with the way it is currently handled. The stacks can extend off the visible page especially on a 15" laptop. You might not see the cue that is engaged in the visible live area. You have to scroll down to find which Cue is activated. This might only take a few seconds but in a show environment sometimes timing is crucial and you dont have the luxury of time. I think the purpose of having Midi control, stacks and buttons is to simply your show.
The Second problem that I see with the current way the Live mode is setup is if you do activate 2 Cues at the same time, the fixture will be confused and may combine the two cues together, which I've seen happen. A spot light cue might contain a gobo pattern from the second cue. I keep thinking about this and I would think that the release shouldnt have an option at all, it should be standard but I'd be happy to just have the option since the way it is setup right now, is very confusing.
I must say I'm very happy with the way Julian has handled all of the questions and concerns.

Re: DMX Dilemma
Right, I understand all that. the method I mentioned would reduce the number of CUEs....so instead of have a list of 15 CUE lists to scroll down...you might have 2 or 3 CUE lists....that cocntain all your different sequences..thus keeping everything visible on your screen.
I'm out of town at the moment, but I'll do a quick video or post some screen shots when I get back.
